Start Your Day in Song

Cinderella starts her day in song. Not after the ball. Not from her palace suite. Cinderella starts her morning in song from within her cinder-cleaning darkest days.

The hope of attending the ball, the anticipation of waltzing in the presence of the king, and the beauty of the world around her is enough to make her sing. When her worldly hopes are dashed, she cries out and her prayers are answered. Someone who knows her inner most desires and is ready and willing to work magic in her life, greets her.

The dark night brings more sadness as her carriage turns to a pumpkin once more. She loses something along the way, but then it was never really hers. Cinderella goes from being in the arms of a prince, her dress sweeping the floor as they danced, to ...well, to just sweeping the floor again.

Surely this is when she's most broken and alone in her life. Still she continues the tasks set before her. Still she sings! Until one day the prince returns, restoring that which she had lost and taking her home with him.

I am like Cinderella many times. While washing dishes until my nails are soggy, I sing in my best voice... Cinderellie, Cinderellie

The thankless tasks of the everyday will not go unthanked. Try bowing physically and spiritually before your God today and your tongue and life will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! Sing the Lord's praises even without the ball and palace. Seek His light in times of darkness. The hope of Jesus, the anticipation of waltzing in the presence of the King, and the beauty of the world around is enough to keep us singing!

Hey, we've all wanted it for years, so let's finally do it!

Let's be Cinderella!

Start your day in song!
