Everyone must acknowledge what they believe about themselves. Eventually, we always act according to our inner self-image. We can only fool ourselves for so long. Our conduct is the only proof we have of what we believe about ourselves. Those with negative habits continue in those habits because that is the way they view themselves. Talk to any teenager who doesn’t fit in and you see why he acts the way he does. He believes himself to be an outcast, a reject, or a burden.
As believers we must be sensitive to the actions of others. Many times people cry out, asking for someone to help them. They are bound by their own self-image. God desires for us to embrace the image He has of us. The moment we accepted Christ, we were crucified with Him, and He gave us a new identity. The only way we can ever truly live a life of obedience is by embracing the true image we have in Him. As we continue to meditate upon the truths of God’s Word concerning our identity, we soon respond with confidence in our God.
Your confident prayer for today:
Father, I thank You for this beautiful day. I live by faith in the One who loved me and gave Himself for me.
